The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Directorate consists of Guidance, Navigation, and Control; Signal Processing; and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors. We are hiring a Principal Systems Engineer - 6DOF Development & Analysis engineer.
The Principal Systems Engineer - 6DOF Development & Analysis will provide simulated environments for testing of missile effectors through 6DOF modeling, scene modeling, and hardware modeling. This position is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do
You will act as a recognized Modeling, Simulation and Analysis subject matter expert responsible for the budget, schedule, development, execution, and completion of complex program objectives.
You will develop and use credible simulation models to estimate system and sub-system level performance for a myriad of systems.
You will participate in production, engineering, and field-test environments to test, verify, and validate requirements for system performance requirements
You will collaborate in all development phases from proposals to live-fire testing, making improvements to processes and providing signal processing expertise for BOEs, design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings to internal and external customers.
You will lead, or be able to lead, a technical team, mentor engineers, and/or manage an engineering project.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 (eight) years of prior relevant experience
Experience on a missile program
Experience designing, developing, and validating Simulations to Government standards
Experience with object oriented languages and other languages such as C, C++, and Python in a Linux environment
Experience with design and analysis for 6DOF simulations
Experience leading technical and/or functional capacities within an engineering environment
Experience with Design of Experiments and High Processor Computing resources
Qualifications We Prefer
An Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics
Experience using MATLAB and/or Python for evaluation and analysis of data sets
Experience using HPC Management tools such as SLURM
Current or prior SAP, SSBI, or SCI Clearances

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
