Typical base salary range: $70,000 to $90,000

We are looking for an energetic Process Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced and ever evolving environment. Someone who is willing to learn new skills and disciplines to become the onsite Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ensuring unapparelled product quality.

Our team has over 100 years of combined experience in the metal finishing industry, and we work with customers that build a variety of products including rifle scopes, paintball guns and knives. Our work takes place at our newly remodeled facility in Tualatin, Oregon, where you’ll work on a four day/ten-hour schedule. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including:

What You’ll Be Doing as a Process Engineer:

In this role, you’ll ensure that the quality of products and processes meet our company and customer expectations. You’ll oversee a small team of technical team members, monitoring production processes and implementing processes to ensure consistency in production and product quality.

  • Leading a team of technicians, providing general oversite. Assigning daily tasks and providing training, process documentation, and work direction.
  • Monitoring production processes to ensure adherence to established standards and regulations.
  • Overseeing chemistry related activity for the anodizing process and facility. Monitoring all equipment supporting the anodizing activity.
  • Working with production and engineering teams to resolve quality problems in a timely and effective manner. Conducting root cause analysis and implement preventative and corrective actions. Identifying equipment and systems to improve overall parts quality and production.
  • Leading regular audits and quality assessments and working with production teams to implement improvements.
  • Ensuring all products meet customer specifications and industry regulatory standards. Partnering where appropriate with customers to develop quality standards. Acting as a liaison between the company and customers during audits and quality inspections.
  • Engaging with the management team to provide evaluations of current state and data driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Monitoring on-site waste treatment and process water quality. Ensuring compliance with all regulatory authorities.
  • Operating as part of the leadership team, mentoring, and developing people within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience You’ll Need as a Process Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Process or Quality Engineering, or a related field with 3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with process improvements and change management.
  • Knowledge of chemical analysis methods, anodizing processes andbest practices and regulations related environmental and hazardous waste handlingis a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
  • Experience with quality control software, data analysis tools, and reporting preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to coordinate multiple activities and liaison effectively with co-workers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer service.
  • Self-starter with a flexible work style and the ability to problem solve in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.

Work Environment for a Process Engineer:

Work takes place primarily a production environment with frequent exposure to anodizing chemicals. May require standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting or manual handling. Occasional domestic travel may be required.
