Midcentury Labs (Stealth Search) is building the next-generation platform for audio AI—focusing on secure onboarding of private data and enabling global contributors to create expert-labeled datasets. They work on difficult multimodal AI challenges, including massive-scale data pipelines and frontier ML research. Backed by an oversubscribed seed round led by a16z, they are preparing to scale their customer base and data operations.

About the Role
As a Product Engineer, you’ll work across the stack to design, build, and iterate on tools for data contribution, labeling, and understanding—enabling the creation of novel datasets for frontier AI model training. This is a highly collaborative role, partnering with researchers, designers, and contributors to ship impactful, production-grade products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build full-stack features for contributors, developers, and researchers to collect and explore expert data.

  • Design scalable infrastructure to transform raw, real-world data into high-quality structured datasets.

  • Prototype and deploy intelligent tooling (LLMs, DSP algorithms, visualization layers) for data interpretation.

  • Rapidly iterate from hypothesis to production with lightweight experiments.

  • Stay current on emerging tech in AI infrastructure, signal processing, and modern web frameworks.

About You

  • 2–6 years as a full-stack or product engineer, taking products end-to-end.

  • Proficiency in modern web stacks and cloud infrastructure.

  • Experience or interest in AI, data pipelines, and high-dimensional data visualization.

Tech Stack: Next.js, TypeScript, tRPC, PostgreSQL, Node.js, AWS, WebRTC, FFMPEG

Compensation: $140K–$240K + 0.5%–1.0% equity
