Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join a dynamic and growing construction team operating across the West Coast. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive on organization, enjoy solving real-time construction challenges, and are eager to grow into future leadership roles, including Project Manager and beyond.

What You’ll Do
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping commercial construction projects running efficiently. You’ll support the field and project management teams by managing documentation, coordinating subcontractors, tracking costs, and helping maintain schedules and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Superintendents and Project Managers with daily project operations to meet scheduling and quality targets.

  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, and associated project documentation through completion.

  • Handle owner billing processes, monitor job cost codes, and assist with accounting-related project items.

  • Maintain daily logs, track material deliveries, capture jobsite photos, and manage change orders and close-out documents.

  • Assist with developing and updating construction schedules (experience with MS Project is a plus).

  • Ensure subcontractor compliance, including insurance, bonding, and contract documentation.

  • Contribute to jobsite safety by participating in daily huddles and documenting safety inspections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field—or equivalent field experience.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.

  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Procore, Prolog, and MS Project is a plus.

Preferred Experience

  • Internship or 1–3 years of hands-on experience in commercial construction.

  • Exposure to job cost tracking and construction document control platforms.
