Job Description

About the Position

We're seeking a Project Engineer to support large, heavy-civil infrastructure programs—including highways, roads, bridges, transit (including rail and bus), and airport projects delivered through both traditional and alternative methods. Your primary focus will be to help bridge the gap between schedule management and cost forecasting on complex infrastructure programs. If you thrive at the intersection of work planning, technical design, and budget discipline—and know how to keep those pieces aligned as scope evolves—this role offers a chance to influence how capital projects are delivered. The ideal candidate is comfortable coordinating across disciplines, understands the ripple effects of schedule decisions on cost, and can spot early risks before they become budget overruns. If you're eager to sharpen the tools of integrated project controls and contribute to high-impact public programs, we'd love to connect.

This is a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in Manhattan, NY.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Planning and assigning discipline-specific tasks to ensure alignment with overall project schedule and budget objectives.
  • Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and quality of deliverables within the assigned technical discipline, ensuring consistency with project requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to team members to support successful execution of project goals.
  • Coordinate with client counterparts and teaming partners to resolve technical issues and maintain alignment across disciplines.
  • Collaborate closely with other technical teams to ensure integrated planning and delivery across all phases of the project.

Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork, trust, and positive relationships.
  • Natural curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years' similar work experience for large scale transit construction projects.
  • Experience working as owner's PM/CM agent (e.g., providing program management/construction management services).
  • Understands the impacts of decisions on technical design and work planning.
  • Experience in coordinating work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Experienced in preparing high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scope.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in construction management or engineering.
  • PE license; state of NY preferred.
  • Active professional certifications such AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) certification.
