The major responsibilities of this position:
Conduct field and factory-based quality assurance work on solar equipment in North America Support Project Managers in the analysis of quality data and produce customer-facing reports Liaise with other internal functions and service providers to satisfy customers' needs The primary tasks of this position are to: Perform quality and supply chain maturity audits at manufacturing locations in North America. Conduct in-factory supervision of production and inspection of new-build solar equipment. Witness PV module manufacturing for prescribed bills of materials. Conduct inspection and oversight of delivered solar equipment - including the witnessing of container unloading, verification of inventory, packaging and pallet integrity, and warehouse storage conditions. Coordinate and oversee inspection and testing of field-installed solar equipment, including directing the work of field-based sub-contractors hired to conduct visual inspection, infrared thermal imaging, electroluminescence imaging (EL) and IV curve tracing. Assist in the analysis and root-cause identification of solar equipment field failures or excessive performance degradation causing concern to clients - which cannot be handled by routine operations and maintenance (O&M) activities. Analyze, interpret, and report QA data resulting from any field and factory-based inspection and testing in order to generate client deliverables. Qualifications and Experience: Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or environmental/renewable energy or commensurate experience gained while working in the renewable energy field. Knowledge and experience with quality management and assurance processes. Knowledge and experience with quality audits, writing reports, and associated follow-up activities. Willingness to travel and work in factories across the US as well as to be on-site at installed systems in the US - traveling up to one week at a time. Ability to work according to industry norms and standards. Fluency in both written and spoken English. Excellent technical writing skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of team.
