POSITION SUMMARY:
• The Quality Engineer 2 with a certain degree of creativity and latitude, monitors, tests, and inspects products to ensure they meet specified standards, are free of flaws, and function as designed.
• The Quality Engineer may work in laboratory settings running tests and duplicating real-world conditions, using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, volt meters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and electronic inspection equipment to aid in quality inspections and assessments.
• Participates in the development of testing and inspection activities associated with product development and all stages of manufacturing.
• Defines and conducts both systematic/methodical and random/arbitrary tests to ensure proper performance of company products.
• Reviews and creates inspection forms, records, techniques, and procedures for accuracy and relevance and provides changes when necessary.
• Lead/Facilitate Shop Floor Quality Improvement activities that include conducting Floor audits and training inspection team or operators on how to inspect their in-process parts effectively and efficiently.
• Material Review Board (MRB) investigation/disposition process that include Root Cause/Corrective Action activities
• Facilitate Corrective & Preventive Action (CPA) activities that include monitoring/tracking open corrective action activities assigned to others while working with owners to rapid closure and escalating when necessary.
• Read and interpret drawings that include GD&T and multi-level Bills Of Materials.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration.
• Review and modify Manufacturing Work Instructions and Quality Inspection plans.
• Review and approve First Article, Final inspection reports and drawing/specification change requests.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Design Engineering to create Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans.
• Lead Customer escapes containments and Root Cause Corrective Action utilizing advanced problem-solving techniques.
• Provide training to employees on Quality related topics.
• Interface with Customer Quality, Engineering and Government Reps for source surveillance activities.
• Performs internal audits of processes using inspection results and statistical techniques to provide timely, accurate product analysis.
• Participates in root cause analysis initiatives for process-related concerns. Analyzes audit results and determines proper corrective and preventative action.
• Makes the final decision on the acceptability of the product.
• Review Customer Purchase Orders/ Contracts for Quality requirements and generate a Compliance Matrix.
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Quality or Engineering (Required) | Master's is preferred
• Experience: Min 3-7 years experience in quality or manufacturing-related discipline and 5 years supervisory experience preferred
• Experience and familiarity with quality industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NQA-1 preferred.
