Quality Engineer - Local to Pittsburgh, PA

Position Description:
This position requires someone to be in a hybrid office work setting in Pittsburgh, PA.
CGI is looking for strong Quality/Test Engineer with the ability to independently work alongside the client, business, and development Teams. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing tests to ensure the quality and functionality of systems as well as documenting test results and collaborating with development teams to resolve any identified issues.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the stakeholders such as Product Owner, Developers and Project Managers to understand the functional and non-functional requirements.
• Create Test Strategy, Test Plans and High Level Test Scenarios and get them reviewed and approved from BSA / Product Owner
• Create test cases covering happy path, alternate paths and error handling scenarios. Upload the test case in JIRA.
• Identify and set up required test data for every test case identified.
• Write high-quality regression test plans for application under validation.
• Execute the test cases in sprint. Identify, track and manage defects.
• Replicate prod defects in the lower environments, log defects in defect management system for resolution. Provide issue walkthroughs to the developers or software engineers.
• Report testing results/ metrics to the QA manager and other project stakeholders.
• Partner with product teams to design and develop acceptance criteria and BDD tests
• Report progress, test metrics and results to the project stakeholders
• Perform all activities involved in the software testing lifecycle.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Candidate must have an agile mindset; An expert in Scaled Agile delivery model, experienced with agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, spring planning, sprint reviews and sprint demos
• Over 5 years of experience working as a quality engineer in an Agile team.
• Great oral and written communication skills.
• Must have experience in leading a small to medium QE team with onshore/offshore model.
• 5+ years of manual testing for front end and UI based applications.
• 5+ years of automation testing experience using Selenium Java frameworks
• Experience developing tests using BDD frameworks (Cucumber).
• 5+ years of experience developing, maintaining & executing automated regression tests for web and frontend applications.
• 5+ years of experience writing SQL scripts.
• Good understanding of Agile project management/ DevOps tools.
