The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will work closely with the production team, new product Introduction, current product manufacturing, supplier quality, and quality management systems to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance our manufacturing processes. Your contributions will be critical to our success in delivering high-quality products to our customers.
What you’ll do as a Quality Engineer :
Execute APQP, PPAP & support PFMEAs, Work Instructions, SOPs, & Quality Alerts. Develop Quality & Inspection Plans as needed
Support Quality Management Systems with internal audits, and document control
Support production with Root Cause Analysis, NC material handling, process improvements, and Training
Coordinate closely with Account managers, QC personnel, and Production supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction.
Facilitate cross-functional teams to resolve customers’ quality concerns or issues.
Monitor KPIs (Scrap, Rework, Customer Complaints etc), develop & execute improvement plans. Initiate projects to improve process capability.
Participate in MRB process and facilitate Corrective Action Plan process to formalize, capture, and disseminate quality issues and corrective actions. Follow-up to ensure processes are implemented and quality standards are enforced.
Support reliability testing and ensure timely and accurate customer test reports and documentation.
Manage incoming vendor materials for compliance with quality, sustainability, and safety certification processes. Support supplier management objectives by communicating and enforcing supplier quality requirements.
Support Purchasing with the supplier approval process. Conduct supplier validation and qualification audits, ensuring that new and existing suppliers are aligned and meet Cartamundi requirements.
Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) via Supplier Scorecard methodology.
Conduct product/process/supplier/quality system audits and employ formal problem-solving techniques to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
Coordinate with the Safety Team to ensure processes and procedures meet OSHA, company, and manufacturing requirements.
Build, develop and maintain effective functional and cross-functional relationships with internal and external business partners.
Collaborate with business partners to streamline processes and procedures to ensure Lean initiatives are met.
We’re looking for a Quality Engineer with:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
2+ years of experience in quality assurance in an ISO manufacturing environment; printing and packaging is a plus
ASQ, CQE Certification; preferred
ISO 9001 Certification-Internal Audits; required
PMP certification is a plus
Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Green belt certification desired
Strong knowledge of quality control procedures and statistical analysis tools
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Physical requirements and working conditions:
Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:
Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues
Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead
Perform sedentary work on various computer systems
This Quality Engineer position is located on-site in our Dallas facility
