As a Reliability Improvement Engineer at UniFirst, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing asset reliability across our facilities. This key role involves partnering with maintenance teams to improve practices that elevate the level of reliability for buildings, equipment, and assets. Your responsibilities will include regular site visits to deliver technical training, develop team capabilities, and implement reliability processes effectively. In this position, you will act as a Business Partner, fostering a two-way accountability model that empowers field locations to improve their operational routines and processes. You will also ensure compliance with corporate directives and safety protocols established by UniFirst leadership. Key Responsibilities Include: Promoting and enriching the UniFirst safety culture through active participation and observation. Guiding field locations in the implementation of reliability and maintenance initiatives. Conducting regular site visits for coaching, mentoring, and training of maintenance personnel. Performing Reliability Playbook/Scorecard coaching sessions to drive improvements in reliability scores and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Administering Reliability Scorecard audits and following up on action plans to assess progress. Assisting in various reliability improvement initiatives including CMMS, predictive maintenance, and other technical tools. Providing on-the-job training and side-by-side support for UniFirst maintenance staff. Ensuring preventive maintenance tasks are completed timely and effectively. Collaborating with vendors and contractors to ensure optimal service and compliance with safety regulations. Maintaining a thorough understanding of maintenance budget performance and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your role is pivotal in planning capital project improvements and budgeting for equipment installations, fostering a proactive and efficient maintenance environment. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, with a solid background in repairing and installing machinery in an industrial setting. 3+ years of supervisory experience in maintenance preferred. Deep knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment and processes. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Desirable certifications related to reliability (e.g., CPMM, CMRP). Education: High school diploma or GED required. Two-year technical degree preferred, with a four-year engineering degree being highly desirable. Additional Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid non-commercial driver's license and a safe driving record.
