Aerodyne Industries is currently seeking a Requirements Management Engineer to join our team supporting the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. At GSFC, Aerodyne Industries provides engineering services for the branches within the Mechanical Systems Division of the GSFC Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate (AETD) as well as for many flight projects at GSFC.
The candidate will support requirements management of various projects at GSFC. Duties will include the following but are not limited to:
Develop and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle using IBM DOORS and IBM DOORS Next Generation, ensuring accurate maintenance of modules, baselines, and verification artifacts.
Collaborate with system engineers and configuration managers to establish and maintain project requirements, ensuring their traceability and verification.
Utilize DXL scripting to enhance DOORS functionality, automate processes, and improve efficiency.
Develop and implement standardized DOORS export templates and configure IBM Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) templates according to government and/or customer standards.
Develop and present change management plans, training resources, and presentation materials to ensure project alignment and stakeholder engagement.
Manage the review and submission process for Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) across different functional teams.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s
Minimum of five years of experience in Requirements Management, particularly in government contracting environments.
Proficiency in IBM DOORS, DOORS NG, Jama, and IBM Publishing Engine.
Proficiency in programming skills in DXL and/or familiarity with Visual Basic and Java for scripting and automation.
Proven track record in leadership and supervisory roles, capable of mentoring teams and leading projects to successful completion.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Hybrid position / Onsite and Remote work.
Must be available by TEAMS or phone during core hours (10-3)
Must be able to attend meetings, as required, on-site at GSFC.
Preferred Skills:
Strong knowledge of government or aerospace engineering project
Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), program management, or contract support.
Design and implement Concept of Operations (ConOps) activities for system modeling using MagicDraw, including the development of Block Definition Diagrams and Activity Diagrams. Conduct Gap Analysis between ConOps models and Level 2 requirements.
Interface with various stakeholders to develop, critique, and modify system requirements, ensuring system efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Experience with configuration management tools such as Windchill.
Knowledge and experience with the Geostationary eXtended Observations (GeoXO) Program and Flight projects is a plus in order to preserve the continuity of operations within the configuration and requirements management process using the established software tools that electronically interface with one another seamlessly.
