Aquinas Consulting has an immediate need to fill a Research/Test Engineer job at a world class R&D facility in the Danbury, CT area.  Our global client is seeking a Test Engineer to support the Procell InSite platform and broader IoT initiatives. This role will focus on automating test processes, validating firmware and hardware performance, and ensuring product reliability through rigorous QA protocols.

Research/Test Engineer Job responsibilities:

Design and execute test plans for firmware, hardware, and software systems

Automate data analysis, reporting, and inventory tracking tools

Conduct monthly software testing and support firmware validation

Perform physical reliability tests (e.g., bend, corrosion, fit)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects and optimize performance

Maintain documentation and test logs for compliance and traceability

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent

1-2 years of experience in test, firmware, software, or mechanical engineering

Familiarity with Python or C/C++

Familiarity with wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, NFC)

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Experience with lab automation and QA standards
