IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently looking to hire an AREA ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER for multiple regions in USA.
– Optimal locations would be Houston, TX, or Atlanta, GA or Portland, OR .
– Other locations within general proximity to larger cities within the designated regions will still be highly considered!
– Must hold a Mechanical Engineering Degree and must have experience with large compressors . ( HP)
– This is an on-site role . You will be working at location either at your assigned home base office or another plant within your assigned region. This is not a remote position.
– Travel required – approx. 60-80 nights per year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Provide technical expertise for mechanical equipment and rotating machinery, including compressors, pumps, fans, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, and auxiliary systems.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures, oversee repairs, and conduct root cause analysis.
Review and approve preventive maintenance (PM) plans, work instructions, and related procedures.
Collaborate with operations, controls, electrical, and planning engineers to support projects and reliability initiatives.
Maintenance & Reliability
Monitor equipment condition using predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography) and recommend corrective actions.
Develop and manage work scopes, budgets, and quality plans for major maintenance activities and turnarounds.
Ensure spare parts availability and oversee contractor performance during maintenance.
Keep contingency, turnaround, and maintenance plans up to date for assigned facilities.
Project & Contractor Management
Support major capital projects, new installations, and equipment commissioning.
Participate in design reviews, hazard assessments (HAZOP), and management of change (MOC) processes.
Manage mechanical contractors to ensure scope accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
Provide input on spare part refurbishment or replacement decisions.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Contribute to the development of area maintenance strategies.
Participate in audits, equipment condition assessments, and reliability reviews.
Share lessons learned from major maintenance and repair projects to drive improvement.
Stay current with industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience, with at least 5 years working directly with mechanical equipment and rotating machinery in an industrial operations or engineering environment.
Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques and data interpretation.
Experience with high-speed rotating machinery troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and specifications.
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel 30–40% (approximately 60–80 nights per year).
