This position provides a great opportunity to work as a Rotor Mechanical Integrity Engineer, you will demonstrate your knowledge of structural and mechanical integrity analysis to design, analyze and optimize new gas turbine rotor designs. To do so, you will apply a variety of different tools and 1D, 2D and 3D analysis methods.
Every day may be different, and the focus of your work will vary with the development phase of your projects. These phases include conceptual development, prototype development, manufacturing & testing, basic design & analysis, detailed design & analysis, manufacturing development & qualification and finally engine testing & validation.
You will align with colleagues, convince the customers and make decisions based on simplified low fidelity approaches if possible or run a 3D FEM, do a fracture mechanic or probabilistic assessment to find solutions for sophisticated design tasks, or anything in between.
You will be part of a global, international team and closely collaborate with colleagues from adjacent subject areas whole engine modelling, materials, product definition, manufacturing and service to develop a design that is a balanced compromise between project requirements for performance, lifetime and costs.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Lead the design, analysis and assessment of rotor & compressor parts and perform overall life cycle optimization using 1D, 2D and 3D approaches
Develop and implement enhanced structural design tools and methods
Assess and evaluate test and field measurements, as well as fleet and service feedback
Provide timely field service support and solutions to manufacturing or customer issues
Drive a team through tough technical challenges
Lead internal and external research and development programs including management of outsourcing specific tasks
What You Bring
University degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar
10+ years’ experience in design, structural analysis, and mechanical integrity assessments
Significant design/analysis experience with rotating components for turbo-machinery applications or similar applications, with a strong background in mechanical integrity
Advanced knowledge of computational methods, FEA using NX Simcenter and ANSYS, fracture mechanics and coding experience with python to automize your workflows and process your data
Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and enjoy working with colleagues from different organizations and cultural backgrounds. Must be highly motivated, meticulous with an innovative thinking mentality and willing to take ownership of the product.

This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
