Job Posting: Security Engineer - All Levels (Government Contract) Location: Remote Clearance: Must be able to obtain Public Trust Employment Type: Full-time Position Summary Seeking Security Engineers at all levels to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Security Operations program. Positions are available from associate to senior level, with placement based on skills and experience. Key Responsibilities Implement, maintain, and improve enterprise security capabilities for compliance, detection, and incident response. Monitor and analyze security events to identify, investigate, and respond to threats. Support compliance activities, including scanning, documentation, remediation tracking, and required assessments. Collaborate with technical teams to resolve security issues and strengthen cloud security posture. Contribute to automation initiatives and explore AI-driven capabilities to enhance operational efficiency. Maintain accurate documentation for processes, configurations, and incident response activities. Qualifications 1-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related technical roles (entry to senior levels considered). Experience in one or more security domains: compliance, detection, incident response, or operations management. Experience with cloud security in AWS and/or Azure, including federal governance and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, ARS). Background in government IT environments (CMS or HHS required). Experience with automation, scripting, and emerging AI applications for security operations. Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, AWS Security Specialty, CISSP) preferred. Education Minimum Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
