Join our team as a Security Engineer and help us protect Suki's digital fortress! As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll be a leader within a dynamic team that's responsible for safeguarding our systems and data. You'll work alongside seasoned security professionals, taking ownership of critical security initiatives and mentoring junior staff.
Here's a sneak peek of what you'll be doing:
Project Leadership: Manage medium to large security projects, proactively enhance system defenses, and ensure compliance with regulations like HIPAA. Collaboration: Partner with engineering leaders in Suki to reduce the friction for engineering teams to develop services that are secure-by-design. Threat Analysis: Effectively analyze complex security issues and threats, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions and mitigations. Endpoint and Data Security: Manage and optimize our Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to protect company assets and sensitive information. Incident Response: Lead technical discussions during incident response, manage investigations into complex security events, and enhance our response capabilities. Security Operations: Proficiently manage, configure, and tune SIEM and CNAPP platforms for effective threat detection and response. Vulnerability Management: Effectively identify, prioritize, and lead the remediation of network, application, and development vulnerabilities. Automation & Development: Develop robust and secure code for security tooling, automation, and critical integrations to improve our security posture. Drive adoption and integration of Suki’s paved path security solutions across all business units. Mentorship: Lead technical discussions and effectively mentor junior team members on security best practices and specific tasks.
What we're looking for:
A strong foundation in computer science or a related field. Strong knowledge of security strategies and advanced competence in cloud infrastructure security, particularly with health tech risks. Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing security projects and mentoring junior team members. Advanced knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST) and expertise with security toolsets within a cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred). Advanced SIEM management, configuration, and tuning skills for effective threat detection. Strong coding skills for developing secure tooling and automation. Expertise in identifying and remediating network, development, and application-level vulnerabilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex security issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to lead technical discussions.

In compliance with the State of California Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is between $150k - $180k in CA. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
