The role is primarily in-office 2-3 days per week, with up to 40% travel across the US. The Protection, Controls & Automation (PCA) group of Digital Power at Schneider Electric specializes in developing solutions for control and protection in electrical substations, data centers, oil & gas, and distribution networks. We are seeking a Sr. Application Engineer with expertise in Power systems, Protection schemes, relay configuration, testing, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include leading complex projects, proposing innovative solutions, training team members, and supporting project execution both in-person and remotely. The role involves 60% hybrid work and 40% travel nationwide. Core Responsibilities: Safety First: Promote Schneider Electrics safety policies, including STOP work authority. Design & Testing: Lead design, configuration, testing, and validation of protection, control, and automation projects based on customer specifications. Manage project risks and ensure quality adherence. Technical Leadership: Lead project design discussions and architecture planning with clients and internal teams. Collaboration: Work with Sales and Project Management during project handover, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless execution. Innovation: Drive development of PCA projects by implementing standards and proposing process improvements. Escalation Management: Resolve technical issues and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Profile Requirements: Minimum 4+ years of experience in Protection, Control, and Automation projects. Strong knowledge of Power systems, Protection relays, and schemes. Proactive, strategic, and creative thinker with excellent communication and mentorship skills. Willing to travel 40% domestically. Knowledge of Schneider Electrics medium and low voltage systems, protection relay testing, and communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP, IEC61850.
