Senior Application Engineer - Hillsboro, OR Where the Chemistry Happens The Senior Application Engineer Cleans position will be part of the Global Electronic Materials team and will be based in Hillsboro, Oregon, supporting the overall success of the Semiconductor Segment of the Electronic Materials business in North America. The Senior Application Engineer will be responsible for product development activities in Advanced Cleans, Etching and Photo ancillaries (ACEP) area to support the business growth with key customers in US. The specific responsibilities are included but not limited as follows: Drive specialty chemical product offerings to deliver new business growth. Work with key customers to provide technical support, troubleshooting and fulfill application needs. Assess new applications for existing product portfolio and communicate with target customers with product offerings. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to support new technology development and speed up product commercialization. Conduct experiments with existing formulations/products/formulation development to secure new business. Responsible for the metrology method development: such as XRF, Ellipsometer, Film metric, SEM and 4-point probe, etc Support new equipment installation Support sample scale up, shipment and customer demo activities. Support needed site work Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Formula for Success PhD degree in chemistry/Chemical Engineering/material science is preferred. More than 5 years of working experience in semiconductor industry. Experience working with key customers with specialty chemical development commercialization is preferred Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within the organization is required. Effective communication skills to facilitate discussions with internal personnel and customers Able to operate in environment of frequently changing priorities A self-starter and ability to work independently are must Previous SEM experience is required.
