Job Summary: We are excited to invite a talented and innovative Senior Big Data Engineer to our healthcare data team. This pivotal role focuses on the complete design, development, and management of large-scale data systems dedicated to healthcare analytics. As a key contributor, you will architect and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines that play a vital role in our organization's decision-making process. Key Responsibilities: Architect and implement high-performance Big Data solutions to process both structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources. Build and manage both batch and real-time data ingestion/extraction pipelines utilizing cutting-edge tools such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Talend. Develop efficient ETL frameworks using Python or Scala for seamless high-volume data transformation and movement. Design and refine data models to support analytical and operational use cases, particularly in healthcare claims and utilization. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and analysts, to transform requirements into valuable data products. Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot Hadoop infrastructure utilizing tools like Cloudera Manager, Ambari, and Zookeeper. Enforce high standards of data quality, security, and compliance using tools like Kerberos, Ranger, and Sentry. Implement APIs (REST/SOAP) to ensure smooth integration with applications and visualization platforms. Contribute to our data governance initiatives, focusing on metadata management, lineage tracking, and quality assurance. Qualifications: Required: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Big Data engineering, data integration, and pipeline development. Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data transformation and scripting tasks. In-depth knowledge of Big Data tools: Spark, Hive, Impala, Presto, Phoenix, Kylin, and Hadoop (HDFS, YARN). Experience in building real-time stream-processing systems using technologies like Kafka, Storm, or Spark Streaming. Strong understanding of NoSQL databases such as HBase and MemSQL, along with traditional RDBMS including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server. Expertise in ETL design and development using Talend or Informatica. Proven experience in deploying and monitoring big data infrastructure with Ambari, Cloudera Manager, and Zookeeper. Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, data validation, quality checks, and governance practices. Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive experience in Big Data engineering or analytics. Prior experience in the healthcare sector, specifically with clinical, claims, or care management data. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, as well as containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
