Join a leading global chemical company in a pivotal role as a Senior Chemical Production Engineer. This direct hire position will place you at the forefront of our chemical production operations, allowing you to leverage your extensive experience in process engineering within a dynamic and challenging environment. As a key player in our team, you will drive continuous improvement, support plant operations, and ensure adherence to all environmental, health, safety, and process safety management regulations. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, optimize processes, and significantly contribute to our operational success.
Salary: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support for batch and continuous chemical operations, including troubleshooting and resolving process or equipment issues.
- Monitor production yields, perform mass balances, and manage data analysis for reporting and decision-making.
- Oversee and execute process improvement projects aiming to enhance safety, productivity, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support and improve operational downtime and runtime to maximize efficiency.
- Engage in all aspects of production and material planning, packaging, shipping, and receiving to ensure seamless operations.
- Lead and participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives and audits, reinforcing compliance and safety standards.
- Implement and manage change through management processes including MOC, PSSR, P&ID updates, hazard reviews, and SOPs.
- Conduct rigorous incident investigations and facilitate problem-solving sessions targeting safety, quality, production, and reliability issues.
- Coordinate and assist in the training and development of operational teams to ensure high performance and adherence to industry best practices.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Process or Production Engineer in a PSM regulated, chemical manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in process unit operations including reactors, distillation, polymerization, esterification, and related technologies.
- Eligibility to work in the USA without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other Continuous Improvement processes.
- Proven track record in handling PHA, MOC, and familiarity with P&IDs.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of conducting and leading complex analyses.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and lead teams.
- Advanced knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC).
