Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Civil-Structural Engineer/Designer to support industrial infrastructure and plant construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring 10–25 years of design engineering experience in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment and be capable of contributing to all phases of civil-structural project execution—from scope development through construction support.
Job Description
Perform civil and structural design for industrial plants, including site-specific civil engineering methodologies.
Prepare technical documents: scopes of work, estimates, and engineering reviews for all project phases.
Support geotechnical investigations and hydraulic/hydrological design, especially for Gulf Coast projects and beyond.
Collaborate with internal engineering teams and third-party contractors to meet project scope, budget, and schedule.
Check construction deliverables for completeness and technical accuracy.
Address and resolve field and engineering issues during construction.
Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and vendor/shop drawings.
Assist in interdisciplinary coordination (e.g., piping, E&I).
Lead or contribute to improvements in design tools, techniques, and methodologies.
Provide responsible charge duties and obtain additional PE licenses, as needed.
Perform civil and structural analysis using design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.).
Skills Required
10–25 years in EPC or similar industrial design setting (more than 25 years considered overqualified)
Civil-3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, STAAD, Mat3D
AutoCAD, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks
Strong understanding of structural and foundation design
Knowledge of hydrological design and local drainage regulations
Google Workspace proficiency
Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
Effective communication and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and time management
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
Current TX PE license (required) and ability to obtain additional state licenses
Additional Requirements
Primary work is in an office setting; field/site visits required as needed.
Must be able to climb stair towers and platforms (up to 30 feet).
PPE must be worn during site visits per safety requirements.
Occasional driving to local job sites and air travel to other locations required.
