Job Title: Senior Cyber Security Engineer Location: Preferred location in or near our corporate office in Boulder, CO, but open to fully remote for the right candidate Employment Type : Full-Time Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen Salary: 135,000 to 150,000 Flatirons Solutions is hiring an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong background in highly compliant environments to join our team. This role will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity tooling that supports our business operations worldwide while ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and networks. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement and securing systems against cyber threats from the ground up. Strong documentational skills and an in depth understanding of compliance and governance frameworks are essential. Key Responsibilities: Ensure adequate policies and procedures are in place and followed across multiple environments Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests. Manage identity and access controls (IAM) and enforce security policies. Respond to security incidents and conduct post-incident investigations and root cause analyses. Take ownership and progress new security tooling projects Take ownership of all security aspects of the AWS Cloud environment Assist the business in obtaining and maintaining CMMC Level 2 certification. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure and cyber security needs. Document configurations, policies, and procedures. Requirements: Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, etc.) are highly desirable. Technical Skills: Strong experience with Windows and enterprise level Linux systems. Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and network security practices. Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN configurations. Experienced with various security tool sets such as SIEM solutions, DLP, Endpoint Protection. Strong knowledge and understanding of compliance and security frameworks, particularly NIST 800-171 and ISO 27001. Knowledge of zero-trust architecture and secure remote access solutions. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects. Additional Experience: Experience dealing with the defense industry and associated controls (CMMC, FedRAMP, NATO) would be highly advantageous.
