Senior DevOps Engineer (SS&C Technologies, Inc.; Windsor, CT): The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for the infrastructure deployed through infrastructure-as-code automation on multiple cloud environments as well as the CI/CD automation for the Eze EIS products and the automation tools used by the development SDLC. Specific responsibilities include: Managing the company’s AWS and SS&C Cloud infrastructure, including across multiple regions and accounts. Monitoring application and infrastructure metrics for performance, availability, and incident response. Maintaining and improving the company’s CI/CD automation process. Maintaining source control branch strategies, build/release, branch merge process and documentation. Automating existing processes using scripting languages. Mentoring and coaching other members of the team. Identifying improvements and participating in innovating our tools and services. Mastering the team’s domain knowledge and being the expert in areas the team owns.  Actively participating in Scrum activities, including translating business requirements into well-written user stories. Developing, analyzing, and maintaining tools that support and automate processes for software product release. Writing installation scripts and programs for installation of products. Working with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and then initiating the build and packaging process. Compiling and assembling software from source code. Ensuring tools are stored in source control. Supporting developers for software package registry and delivery. Working with others to complete analysis, evaluations and design alternatives and to implement process improvements. Working with development engineers to correct build errors. Providing support for legal issues such as compliance with open source and third-party commercial software licenses. Working on projects of a moderate scope or on varied tasks that require resourcefulness, self-initiative, and significant independent judgement. Demonstrating a developing functional knowledge to evaluate the implications of issues and make recommendations for solutions. Guiding less experienced team members. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field plus 2 years of experience in a software engineering role. Alternatively, will accept Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field plus 1 year of pre- or post-Master’s experience in a software engineering role.
Must have : Demonstrated experience in AWS cloud services. Demonstrated experience working with Terraform and Ansible. Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, Octopus Deploy or similar. Demonstrated experience with programming and software development. Demonstrated experience in development automation. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft .NET coding languages. Extensive experience in scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, and groovy. Strong grasp of automation tools. Demonstrated experience maintaining an infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new features. Proficient written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences. Demonstrated experience automating builds and unit testing in a GitHub environment. Demonstrated experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
