POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development and optimization of electrical components and systems for automotive, heavy-duty, and industrial applications. This is a role based in our Tlalnepantla de Baz,Mexico office. You will collaborate closely with teams across the globe, including our China-based team, requiring availability for night-time communication to ensure seamless cross-time-zone collaboration. This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the development of complex, high-performance automotive electronics and lead the design of new products. As a senior engineer, you will take a leadership role in guiding the team, mentoring junior engineers, and driving the technical direction of projects. You must have a proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies independently and be passionate about continuous professional development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Product Development: Take the lead in analyzing Original Equipment (OE) products and developing detailed product specifications to meet market and OEM requirements. Guide and mentor junior engineers in these processes.
Advanced Circuit Design & Prototyping: Design and oversee the creation of electronic circuit prototypes, ensuring they meet OE specifications, performance standards, and cost requirements. Lead more complex design efforts and improvements in product efficiency and reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Mechanical, Process, and Production teams to ensure that the final design meets OEM specifications, fit, form, and function for production.
Product Evaluation and Validation: Lead the evaluation, testing, and validation of products, ensuring they meet all electrical and performance standards and are robust for real-world applications.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level engineers, helping to develop their skills and providing guidance on design and testing processes.
End-of-Life Management: Take charge of reviewing and replacing components nearing their end of life and ensuring that the product remains compliant and cost-effective.
Test Equipment & Validation Leadership: Design, develop, and validate test equipment and test plans. Oversee the specification and integration of laboratory test equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all testing processes.
Global Team Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams in different regions (China, Latin America, Europe, and the US), providing technical leadership and ensuring smooth global collaboration for product development, testing, and manufacturing.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing technical support to production lines and assist in troubleshooting, resolving product issues, and improving manufacturing processes.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to support global teams and production facilities in China, the US, Latin America, and Europe as needed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills) and REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on automotive electronics, industrial electronics, or a related field. Proven expertise in circuit design, validation, and leading cross-functional projects.
Competencies: Familiarity with electrical components, particularly in automotive or heavy-duty applications.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong ability to learn independently, constantly improving technical knowledge and skills to stay at the forefront of developments in the automotive electronics field.
Skills: Expert knowledge in electrical circuit design and prototyping.
Extensive experience in product testing and validation, including complex, high-performance systems.
Advanced understanding of electrical components, particularly in automotive and heavy-duty applications.
Proficiency in C programming language for embedded systems, product testing, and automation is essential.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience leading technical projects and guiding junior engineers.
