Description
As a Senior Engineer II, the person is expected to participate as a subject matter expert operating independently on high visibility engagements, often related to design or architecture. The person is expected to have deep experience in at least two technical areas with breadth across additional areas with around 15 years of experience in the field. Please note: This is a Hybrid position with s ome project phases allowing remote work, other phases requiring heavily onsite with little to no remote work (4-5 days during customer training and lab testing) on the project in Elkridge, MD. This is a full-time, direct-hire role and due to segments of our customer base, only US Citizens can be considered for this role. This role is for a senior level engineer to lead large highly visible projects with a Baltimore-based large national client with international multi-year projects. Must be able to travel internationally. Some occasional travel (about 1 week at a time) will be required both internationally and to our Kansas City Integration Center.
Responsibilities
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert operating independently on high visibility engagements where required Supports projects as a technical delivery lead on engagements of up to 5 people. Able to create written documents (e.g., SOWs, RFP responses, deliverables) independently and free from grammatical mistakes. Escalation of project impacting issues to the Delivery Directors or other appropriate leadership Position Requirements At least 15 years of experience in a relevant technology area Have depth in at least 2 technical areas, with breadth across 4 or more other areas Independently able to lead technical sales support on strategic opportunities Able to cover Project Management if/as necessary Fully independent with oversight limited to standard peer/RM reviews Able to independently determine if a technical solution will meet client business requirements Understands how to translate technical value into business value and ultimately ROI. Able to independently create and deliver presentations to at least mid-level client stakeholders or CxO level stakeholders with executive support. Confident speaking to client groups of up to 20 people. Able to independently extract and review project and financial information from our financial system and compare/align to forecast(s). Consistently maintains one's own forecast on respective efforts and reviews/directs team members to do so on engagements when serving as the delivery lead and/or project manager. Education One or more CCIE level certifications. Alternates could include one or more CCNP level certifications or other industry equivalents Bachelor's or above/equivalent It would be great if you also had Experience with Network Source of Truth (NSOT) solutions like NetBox Experience with Python, Ansible, or other network automation tools Experience with Cisco firewalls, especially Cisco ASA or Firepower Experience with network overlays (GRE) Experience with Call Manager Express (CME) Experience deploying AAA solutions like Cisco ISE or Aruba Clearpass for TACACS/RADIUS Experience with the Linux operating system (Ubuntu) Strong network troubleshooting skills
Work Conditions 40-hour week and availability for off-hours work as required based on the project Location: Hybrid. Some project phases will allow more remote work, others are more heavily onsite with little to no remote work (4-5 days during customer training and lab testing) at various phases on the project in Elkridge, MD Some travel expected - to international customer destinations and our integration center (travel expected to be no more than one week at a time)
