About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Failure Analysis Engineer to lead failure investigations across power supplies and integrated circuits. This role plays a vital part in supporting both internal development teams and external customers-primarily in Asia-with in-depth technical analysis, problem-solving, and reporting.
You will work closely with engineering, sales, and quality teams to resolve issues related to production, reliability, and customer feedback. This position requires a strong analytical background, hands-on debugging experience, and excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English.
Key Responsibilities Debug and verify AC/DC switching power supply modules using company products Conduct failure analysis on power semiconductors and mixed-signal ICs Identify root causes through fault isolation, schematic/layout review, and data interpretation Produce detailed technical reports for internal and external stakeholders Collaborate with sales and support teams to resolve customer-reported issues Support customer relationships in China and Taiwan with remote and occasional onsite assistance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor failure analysis Expertise in switch-mode power supplies and analog/mixed-signal ICs Ability to read and interpret system-level schematics and IC layouts (CMOS and bipolar) Fluency in Mandarin (spoken, written, and technical documentation) Strong communication skills in English What We Offer Competitive base salary (up to $140K for exceptional candidates) RSUs (company stock): $20K-$30K over 4 years, 100% vested when received Full health, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Relocation assistance for qualified candidates Opportunity to work with a global leader in power semiconductor technology Interview Process Initial screening with our recruitment team 1st-round technical interview (Zoom or onsite depending on location) Final interview with hiring manager and technical team Fast feedback turnaround (typically within 48 hours)
