Hourly Rate: ~ $50/hr
Travel: 25% (US-based, weekdays only)
Contract Duration: ~ 6+ months (with potential for extension)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Remote Fiber Engineer to join our team for an immediate 6+ month contract. This role focuses on Fiber to the Home (FTTH) design across 5 military bases. The successful candidate will design using Fond or KMZ desktop, handle equipment specifications, and work with A&E and construction vendors for final project documentation. You'll ensure that fiber counts, splitter locations, and aerial neighborhood options are well-planned and documented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design for FTTH on five military bases.
- Develop fiber layouts, equipment specifications, and determine vendors and part numbers.
- Coordinate fiber segments, splitter locations, fiber counts, and aerial options in neighborhoods.
- Create and edit AutoCAD drawings, develop standards, and submit final KMZ documentation to A&E and construction teams.
- Ensure inventory accuracy (fiber, hand holes, splicing points, etc.) and create clear documentation.
- Support SOW development for the project.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Fond or KMZ desktop design.
- Experience in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, 3GIS, and Vetro.
- Knowledge of control systems architecture and ability to manage documentation for fiber and telecommunications projects.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, as needed, for field audits and inspections.
- Strong understanding of FTTH engineering and equipment specifications.
- At least 2 years of telecommunications engineering experience or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PLC and programming languages.
- Knowledge of telecommunications construction, site development, and project management.
