The Quantum Systems team is seeking a Senior Global CryoLab Support Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning, and operational support of cryogenic systems across our global network of quantum computing laboratories. This role requires deep technical expertise in cryogenics and infrastructure support, combined with strong project management and troubleshooting skills.
In this role you will serve as a critical interface between engineering, facilities, and research teams, ensuring the successful deployment and reliable operation of dilution refrigerators, cryostats, and auxiliary systems essential for quantum hardware development.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Cryogenics, Physics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environmentOR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Cryogenics, Physics, or related field AND 4+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environmentOR Doctorate Mechanical Engineering, Cryogenics, Physics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in industry or in a research and development environment, could include completion of a post doctoral research positionOR equivalent experience.
Extensive hands-on experience operating and maintaining dilution refrigerators, including systems from Bluefors, Oxford Instruments, and Janis.
Experience with vacuum systems, pressure/vacuum plumbing, and leak detection.
Experience integrating quantum hardware (e.g. RF readout chains) into cryogenic systems.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. Proficient in interpreting system schematics, cryogenic layouts, and technical documentation.
Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities with a history of effective troubleshooting in complex lab environments.
Understanding of electrical debugging and qualification tests for wiring and amplifiers.
Experience with DC, RF, and time-domain test equipment.
Knowledge of cryogenic automation, remote monitoring, or system control scripting.
Experience managing equipment lifecycle, spare parts, and logistical coordination for supporting geographically distributed labs.
Background in multi-site technical operations or global lab infrastructure teams.
Effective in communication and coordination across engineering, facilities, and vendor teams.
Quantum Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
Lead installation, maintenance, and upgrade efforts for dilution refrigerators and associated cryogenic systems across several global facilities
Own the end to end support lifecycle of cryogenic systems including routine health checks and other applicable diagnostics
Drive remote and on-site troubleshooting efforts to ensure high uptime and performance consistency across labs
Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system operation, safety, and incident response
Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for cryostat procurement, delivery, and commissioning
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, service history, and operational metrics
Support global lab expansion initiatives, including planning, logistics, and hands-on execution
