Senior Engineer III –Substation & I&C Projects

Work Arrangement:  Hybrid (In-office: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday | Remote: Wednesday, Friday)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced  Senior Engineer III  to lead and support engineering efforts within the  Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)  division of HVD Engineering. This role focuses on substation design projects—both new constructions and upgrades—supporting capital initiatives with internal teams and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead development of  Scope of Work (SOW)  for consultant-led projects.

Create and manage  RFQs ,  purchase requisitions , and  invoice approvals .

Coordinate  design milestone reviews  (30/60/90%) and track project schedules.

Review technical deliverables and support  AC/DC load studies , I&C schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Handle  consultant RFIs , quality checks, and ensure project milestones are achieved.

Host and participate in review meetings with consultants and internal stakeholders.

Monitor and improve project  KPIs  including quality, cost, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in  Electrical, Controls, or a related Engineering discipline .

5+ years  of experience in utility, energy, or industrial engineering.

Strong understanding of  substation I&C design , including schematics, wiring, and load studies.

Proficient in  Microsoft Office  and standard engineering tools.

Excellent  problem-solving ,  communication , and  project coordination  skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
