We cater to high-profile clients, including federal, state, and local government entities, as well as commercial customers. Leidos DSI excels in providing leading-edge digital communications and workflow software, alongside outstanding customer support. Location: The ideal candidate must be within a commutable distance of our office in Washington DC. This role will require full in-office presence for the first 90 days, transitioning to 50% remote work thereafter. Your Role: Serve as the primary technical steward for the daily operations of mission-critical business applications for our government clients.
Design, develop, and implement infrastructure systems that support customer business applications, requiring strong VMWare skills.
Ensure that configuration baselines, vulnerability remediation, backup/recovery capabilities, and application availability meet technical and performance standards.
Foster positive relationships with customers by acting as their primary technical point of contact, capturing and managing their requirements, and ensuring their needs are understood across all stakeholders.
Always prioritize systems and data security by securing systems according to government IT security standards, conducting security audits, and maintaining an audit-worthy posture throughout the system lifecycle.
Research and assess emerging technologies and tools that can help manage changes and ensure continuity for the customer.
What You Need to Succeed (Basic Qualifications): Bachelor's degree with over eight (8+) years of relevant systems engineering experience, or a Master's degree with six (6+) years of experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret level security clearance post-hire.
Outstanding technical and problem-solving capabilities.
Proven attention to detail and commitment to accountability, with strong capabilities in diagnosing and addressing system issues.
Strong track record in building and maintaining customer relationships.
A broad technical skill set, which includes the following: VMWare (design, configuration, deployment, maintenance with high availability)
Windows, Active Directory, GPO, scripting, and automation
RHEL Linux/Ubuntu
Experience with vulnerability remediation using tools like Nessus
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, BigFix BES or similar
Solid understanding of networks and segmentation
Knowledge of configuration management best practices and tools
Familiarity with NetApp or similar enterprise SAN systems
Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate after-hours or weekend support to ensure uninterrupted customer operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in maintaining system design documentation (SDD) and network diagrams.
You May Also Have: Experience with backup technologies such as NetBackup, Commvault, etc.
Experience in supporting DevOps server environments with technologies for development and containerized applications - Tanzu/Docker
Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines - Git or similar tools
Experience with AWS and/or Azure
