Job Summary
: This senior-level position will allow you to perform assignments that utilize your professional working knowledge and abilities through the application of standard engineering design techniques, applicable codes and standards, procedures, and criteria. You may develop standard instrumentation & control systems deliverables including instrument datasheets & specifications, control system logic diagrams, support the development of piping and instrumentation drawings, and more. You will exercise judgement in performing your assigned duties using industry experience and methods prescribed by your supervisor. The engineer will work with other control systems engineers, other disciplines/functions, and/or the client. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and a desire to innovate design. As a senior engineer, you will also be asked to coach and mentor younger engineers.
This role will be based in Knoxville, TN with periodic business travel, as required.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-SB1
Major Responsibilities:
Typical Activities of the Control Systems Team Design and review of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) to add control/functionality for intermediate process control systems. Specification of instrumentation and control valves. Prepare and check instrument and control valve data sheets and material requisitions. Prepare and check control narratives. Prepare and check digital and analog control logic. Prepare and check functional block diagrams. Populate instrumentation, valve, and I/O databases. Design and application of tubing and instrument installations. Allocation and layout of facility control system I/O. Coordination of physical locations of instrumentation, control valves, control cabinets, etc. Design and check control cabinet layouts. Review of supplier provided data and documentation. Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. Coordination of technical issues with other engineering disciplines (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical) and other functions (e.g., Construction, Startup). Advise and guide junior engineers. Some travel to plant and supplier facilities may be required. Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.​ Must be a U.S. citizen. This role requires a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship. Required Knowledge and Skills:
