Primary Function
As a Sr. Maintenance Engineer, you will serve a pivotal role in maintaining and supporting cutting edge technology as part of the customers' event studios, premium event centers, and digital event environments. You will work alongside Sr. Broadcast Engineers, Broadcast Engineers, and Maintenance Engineers to ensure a robust and thorough maintenance program is executed. You will maintain audiovisual, conferencing, and production infrastructure, balancing the integration of new technology while supporting legacy hardware and systems to deliver seamless, high-quality event experiences.
Collaborating with the entire engineering team you will ensure our production-level spaces meet the evolving demands of in-person, hybrid, and digital events, setting new benchmarks for technical precision and reliability. Maintenance of all technical equipment is key to fulfilling this role. The Sr. Maintenance Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer in supporting the execution of the maintenance program.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
RANGE: $155k - $170k
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain and repair complex AV and Broadcast systems throughout a distributed campus in multiple cities
Provide strategy for preventative maintenance for components and systems within sophisticated broadcast AV systems
Conduct the preventative maintenance plan, suggesting ideas and providing solutions to consistent problems in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor
Utilizing your career experience, serve as mentor to staff and offer knowledge sharing on relevant areas of expertise
Work closely with engineering department to execute maintenance program
Provide technical support and the application of best practices in the field of AV engineering, supporting all related disciplines such as troubleshooting, monitoring, calibration, maintenance support, and documentation
Apply troubleshooting best practices and root cause analysis (RCA) to identify weaknesses, minimizing recurrence, and improve future design and integration
Research and write, contributing to SOP and RCA reporting in support of live show operations
Repair and replace equipment working with the in-house engineering teams as well as third party vendors, service personnel and/or outside contractors
Update database of equipment assets and inventory
Recommend alternatives to infrastructure including replacement of systems and equipment
Update system documentation and service manuals related to and useful for installation work, and diagnostic reference for current repairs and future upgrades
Update technical drawings, signal flow diagrams and integrated systems designs in standard software packages such as CAD, Visio, etc.
Interact often with other technical and non-technical client staff
Support training of all engineering staff on equipment and procedures

Skills & Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of legacy and state-of-the industry multimedia systems and equipment used in best-in-class event centers
A strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution of problems
Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and solving complex technical problems and an interest in developing new strategies
An overall understanding of the live program production process is necessary
Strong results orientation with a flexible attitude to deliver seamless and timely services to customers
Familiar with all types of AV equipment and control systems, including Ross Ultrix/Carbonite/Expression, Crestron, Dante, Q-Sys, Panasonic, L-Acoustics, Yamaha and others
Understanding of LAN/WAN hardware and software for switches, hubs, routers, bridges, modems, via copper and fiber for audio and video and control
Experience with LED wall support and maintenance (Sony, Unilumen, Absen, Roe, etc)
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for broadcast AV, enterprise AV
In-depth “hands on” knowledge of audio and video production tools such as cameras, mixers, monitors, editing systems, etc. and able to correctly setup and diagnose problems with such equipment
Ability to liaise with manufacturers and integrators to install, test and recalibrate new and newly repaired gear
Ability to create, read and notate on high-level schematics, signal flow diagrams and construction drawings, Proficient with CAD programs
Must be proficient in Google Workspace
Proficient with both PC and Mac operating systems
Candidate must be a proactive problem solver and a team player
Candidate must have strong verbal communications skills, be well organized and capable of handling multiple assignments
Strong interpersonal skills. Sensitivity and tact in dealing with staff/partners/clients at different levels in a culturally diverse environment
Experience in executing structured maintenance programs at large institution or client
Candidate must have a commitment to excellence and to ongoing education in Engineering and IT and to the mastery of his or her craft
Must be capable of working at heights in an aerial lift, have good balance, work in tight spaces under desks and within IT racks.
Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 60 pounds
Education & Experience
10+ years’ hands on repair experience for broadcast or AV; large market/facility
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering or related field preferred
AVIXA CTS (and CTS-D, CTS-I), CCNA, PMP or other related certifications preferred
