We’re seeking a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) – Thermoforming to lead both operational and strategic quality initiatives that make a real impact on product performance. In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind product and component testing, root cause analysis, and process improvements that elevate quality and efficiency. USA, Louisville, KY How You'll Create Possibilities
Lead projects and quarterly initiatives to boost yield, reduce scrap, improve audit results, and enhance cost of quality metrics.
Respond quickly to abnormal test results and escalate issues for resolution.
Partner with plant operations to tackle inefficiencies head-on and drive sustained improvements.
Define and measure Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics and ensure appropriate testing methods are in place.
Create and maintain Manufacturing Control Instructions (MCIs) , visual aids, and training materials.
Provide process capability expertise to New Product Introduction (NPI) teams and integrate innovative testing technologies.
Own all aspects of testing processes, from data analysis to corrective actions, ensuring standards and specifications are met.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve test logic, manage changes, and maintain compliance.
Lead development and implementation of measurement systems—CMM, gaging, test equipment, 3D scanning, SPC—and take corrective action when trends are off target.
Keep project work on track with regular reviews, cross-functional alignment, and timely escalation when needed.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, required. 8+ years’ experience with quality improvement projects in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment or equivalent military experience with a proven track record of leadership and development. Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Experience interpreting data to solve problems associated with high volume, short cycle manufacturing of consumer products. Ability to work within large cross-functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members). Experience in the manufacture, processing and inspection of plastic and metal components (molding and thermoforming) Working off-shift and weekends may be required. Our Culture
