You’ll be responsible for designing enclosures and assemblies that integrate RF components, sensors, and PCBs, while collaborating across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure quality, scalability, and cost efficiency. This is a hands-on role with strong growth potential.ResponsibilitiesDesign, prototype, and iterate mechanical enclosures and assemblies for rugged outdoor environmentsDevelop high-volume, DFM-ready designs using plastic injection molding and related processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (EE, FW, supply chain) to integrate electronics into mechanical systemsOwn end-to-end development of mechanical components — from concept through mass productionWork closely with vendors and CM partners to support tooling, validation, and rampContribute to SOP development and engineering best practices for scalable manufacturingProvide technical mentorship and help grow the mechanical engineering functionRequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or a related field7+ years of experience designing electromechanical products in high-volume environmentsProven experience with plastic injection molding, tolerance stackups, and mechanical QAExperience integrating RF components (BLE, WiFi, cellular) into enclosuresStrong DFM background and experience scaling products from prototype to mass productionExperience collaborating with supply chain and vendors to optimize part cost, quality, and yieldExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsFamiliarity with real-world environmental constraints (waterproofing, temperature extremes, durability)Bonus SkillsExperience with optomechanical sensors or optical component integrationRF design exposure or collaboration with antenna/RF engineersExperience working at both startups and larger hardware companiesPrevious work on IoT or distributed sensor networksThermal modeling and simulation experienceFamiliarity with mentoring or team leadership responsibilitiesThis describes the ideal candidate; many of us have picked up this expertise along the way.
