City: Bristol, CT
Onsite/ Hybrid/ Remote: Onsite (4 days a week)
Duration: 24 months
Rate Range: Up to$85/hr on W2 depending on experience (no C2C or 1099 or sub-contract)
Work Authorization: GC, USC, All valid EADs except OPT, CPT, H1B
Work Timings: Sunday-Tuesday from 6PM-6AM and Wednesday from 6PM - Midnight.

Must Have:
  • Media Engineering (5+ years)
  • Good understanding of Spectrum Analyzer.
  • Should know the difference between C-Band and Ku-Band
  • SMPTE Standards (ST 2110, ST 2022-7, ST 2059, etc.)
  • SDI/IP Media Routing & Signal Flow
  • AWS or other Cloud Infrastructure (with certification)
  • Evertz control systems (VistaLink, Magnum, VIP, VUE)
  • Streaming Media (MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000/XS)
  • Broadcast & Post-Production Systems (Avid, Adobe, Viz, Dalet, Ross, Lawo, Calrec)
  • AutoCAD or similar tools for reading technical schematics
  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting (Tier 2/3 support)
  • RF/Satellite/Fiber Distribution Systems
  • Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, NodeJS)
  • Monitoring tools and system health platforms
Responsibilities:
  • Help with upgrading all the IPTV boxes on campus in production areas and Working on RF and transmission aspects of projects, among other things.
  • Sustain, troubleshoot, and optimize media production and distribution systems including playout, contribution, cloud, and networking.
  • Resolve system outages and complex issues escalated from Tier 1 or Tier 2 support.
  • Participate in upgrades and patching of hardware/software within production environments.
  • Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis across cloud, software, and hardware-based broadcast infrastructure.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on production systems including playout servers, automation systems, video routers, and transmission gear.
  • Contribute to design/build projects supporting media engineering needs across studios, control rooms, and virtual environments.
  • Support cloud-based compute and storage systems including monitoring AWS EC2, S3/Glacier and other services.
  • Review and maintain documentation for media workflows, system diagrams, and escalation protocols.
  • Collaborate with internal and third-party vendors to uphold service quality and SLAs.
  • Support planning, procurement, and integration of new technologies into the media ecosystem.
  • Provide mentorship and hands-on training for junior engineering staff.
  • Participate in regular on-call rotations and after-hours incident support as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on media engineering experience in a broadcast or live production environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise with IP-based broadcast systems and hybrid SDI/IP environments.
  • Strong understanding of compression standards and streaming formats.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code (Terraform, scripting).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to operate independently in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms; valid driver’s license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
