We are unable to sponsor H1b candidates at this time Job Type: W2/1099 Job Title: Sr Network Engineer Location: Lakewood, CA (onsite) Duration: Contract to hire Job Description: Design, configure, and maintain switching network infrastructures and wireless systems . Work extensively with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, access points, firewalls). Troubleshoot network issues across Layer 1 (physical) , Layer 2 (data link) , and Layer 3 (network) . Implement and manage network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, Nagios) to ensure system uptime and performance. Assist in network planning and capacity management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure upgrades and security compliance. Perform regular system updates, patching, and hardware refreshes. Maintain documentation for network configurations, policies, and procedures. Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in network infrastructure roles. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco technologies (Cisco certification preferred). Solid understanding of network protocols and wireless networking standards . Proficiency in troubleshooting and configuring devices across Layers 13 . Experience with network performance monitoring and diagnostic tools . Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with firewalls , load balancers , and VPN technologies . Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) is a plus. Knowledge of network automation (Python, Ansible) is advantageous.
