Senior Network Infrastructure Projects Engineer (NorCal)San Francisco, California, United States
New Yesterday
Senior Network Infrastructure Projects Engineer (NorCal) Pliancy is fundamentally changing the way businesses value technology by empowering the next evolution of IT leadership. We provide high-touch consulting solutions to life science and finance organizations. Our employees and clients find that we're starkly different from other IT organizations because we challenge the status quo in two major ways: by putting people first in every decision we make, and by innovating towards simplicity and sustainability. Whether streamlining a client's race to a cancer cure or securing the fine details of data integrity, we're driven to help people.
And as a people-first company that invests in the long-term success of our employees, we're looking for creative thinkers who like to solve interesting problems. We have a culture of mentorship, and prioritize curiosity and empathy in all of our hiring decisions.
About the Role We are looking for a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure Projects team. This team is dedicated to managing a range of initiatives, from large-scale build-outs and relocation projects to targeted infrastructure service improvements.
As a client-facing engineer, you will regularly interact with C-suite stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable communication, and expectation setting is imperative. The location for this role is in the San Francisco area, with frequent travel to client sites.
What Is the Work Like? Our clients in the San Francisco area are showing consistent growth. This manifests as a lot of movement into and out of office spaces. In both of our client verticals, we find ourselves:
Joining owner, architect, and contractor calls to work closely with construction teams and their subcontractors for pieces that impact low-voltage and audiovisual installations.
Designing, ordering, and implementing a full network stack (switching, firewalls, and wireless).
Partnering internet service providers and working with them from site surveys to circuit activation.
There is a lot of on-site work but there will be instances where you are doing various, remote value-add efforts (predictive wireless surveys, license renewals, maintenance, or post-installation support).
Who Are We Looking For? Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, working seamlessly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You have a keen interest in process improvement, strong project management skills, and an appreciation for documentation and detailed specifications.
In addition to managing day-to-day operations, you will help play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving on our standards and processes that will help successfully drive our initiatives. You also have a solid foundation in a variety of technologies, including networking, virtualization, SaaS, IaaS, and AV.
We are looking for an IT operations generalist who works well with technical and non-technical people, is interested in improving processes, is an adept project manager, and has an appreciation for documentation and detailed specs. Going a bit further, we're looking for someone who will help develop and maintain the standards for the processes we are using and loves working in an environment of continuous improvement. Finally, this individual has worked with enough technology, be it networking, virtualization, SaaS, IaaS, or AV, to use foundational basics to pick up new technology and skill sets.
