As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you'll take on technical leadership for packaging projects from concept to launch, ensuring product safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Candidates should ideally be located in Leesburg, VA (preferred) or Allendale, NJ.
What You'll Do:
- Lead packaging design and development for both sterile and non-sterile spinal implants
- Drive creation of CAD models, specifications, and packaging documentation
- Perform testing and validation activities in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to manage packaging timelines
- Identify and evaluate new packaging materials and technologies
- Contribute to the development of risk documentation and SOPs
- Mentor junior engineers and support cost-reduction initiatives
- Ensure compliance with QSR and ISO requirements
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in packaging design (medical device experience preferred)
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or Creo preferred)
- Strong understanding of design controls and regulatory standards
- Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication abilities

Compensation:
The typical pay range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
