Job Overview: The Senior Principal Data Engineer will join our Big Data team and play a pivotal role in developing cloud-based batch and event-driven data pipelines (AWS). The ideal candidate will enhance the reliability, security, resilience, and performance of our Big Data infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in software development using technologies like Java and Spark, contributing to our daily operations, including CI/CD processes. Your Key Responsibilities: Design and develop robust data architectures that optimize the storage, retrieval, and analysis of large-scale datasets.

Create and maintain scalable data pipelines to efficiently ingest, process, and transform data from diverse sources into our data warehouse or data lake, ensuring high data quality and consistency.

Enhance the performance of data storage, retrieval, and processing through advanced techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and caching.

Assess and select suitable technologies, tools, and platforms for effective data processing.

Increase the availability and reliability of the data streaming pipeline.

Evaluate the scalability of data architecture to meet future growth and shifting business requirements.

Develop automated build and deployment strategies for microservices utilizing CI/CD frameworks.

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

8+ years of experience developing backend services using Java, Scala, or Python.

Strong expertise in modern data storage solutions, including traditional data warehouses and data lakes.

Experience in solution design focused on microservices for large-scale datasets.

Proficiency in automating operational tasks through coding and development.

Hands-on experience with Maven, Jenkins, Git, and JUnit.

5+ years of experience working with cloud services, particularly AWS or other cloud providers.

Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Spark (Java, Scala).

Familiarity with Databricks.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Background working in cloud environments: AWS and/or Azure.

Proficiency in performance monitoring using tools like Datadog.

Understanding of asynchronous Java programming.
