This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of PsiQuantum. We are currently looking for a Senior Process Design Kit (PDK) LVS Flow engineer in California (USA). This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum photonics technology by developing and maintaining the Layout Versus Schematic (LVS) verification flow within advanced Photonics Process Design Kits. You will ensure accurate netlist extraction, comparison, and verification to support precise physical implementations of complex photonics circuits. Collaborating closely with design, layout, and foundry teams, you will help drive seamless tape-out processes and maintain high-quality PDK releases. This position combines technical coding expertise with cross-functional teamwork in a fast-evolving, innovative environment dedicated to transformative quantum computing advances.
Accountabilities: Develop, validate, and maintain a robust LVS verification flow using tools such as KLayout and Python scripting. Define and implement netlist extraction rules that ensure precise device and connectivity recognition within the photonics PDK. Create and manage tools for netlist manipulation, comparison, and verification to guarantee alignment between layout and schematic data. Maintain and release updated versions of the PDK, ensuring accuracy and performance improvements. Provide LVS support to design and layout teams throughout tape-out phases. Coordinate effectively with foundry, process, circuit design, layout, and test teams to enable smooth integration of photonics circuits.
Requirements Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in LVS flow engineering or similar roles, ideally with a focus on photonics. Strong proficiency in Python programming with emphasis on clean, modular, and testable code. Extensive experience using KLayout; familiarity with gdsfactory is a plus. Hands-on experience in silicon photonics design, especially involving complex circuits. Demonstrated interest or background in quantum computing technologies. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.
