GENERAL SUMMARY The Senior Product Engineer leads standards and processes related to new product development and improvement of existing products through a cross-functional team. This role leverages senior technical experience to ensure designs meet safety, reliability, productivity, and cost specifications and customer expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Promote continuous improvement of engineering processes and documentation to enhance throughput, design efficiency, and product quality. Develop and maintain standardization and best practices for design and documentation, including configure-to-order methods. Assist in developing options and variants for Garlock product lines, including bill of materials, routings, drawings, item master info, and costs. Research, test, and recommend new technologies and processes for systems and components. Ensure compliance with domestic and international design standards, OSHA, and industry standards. Review and manage catalogs of mechanical components and structures used in Garlock equipment, such as frames, welded steel structures, engines, etc. Complete RFIs, feasibility studies, design reviews, deviation approvals, and investigate product nonconformance. Create concept layouts, review, and check designs using solid modeling practices. Guide technical decisions of mechanical personnel through design review processes and informal consultations. Ensure products meet specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Information Minimum of 7 years of design engineering experience with fabricated sheet metal and weldments. Proficiency in applying engineering principles in manufacturing environments. Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD systems. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar from a four-year college or university, with at least 7 years of related experience.
