Job Purpose:
As a Senior Quality & Launch Engineer, you'll serve as the key quality interface between engineering, production, and customers.
You'll lead process qualification, new product launch readiness, and problem resolution activities in a precision manufacturing environment. You will also mentor junior team members and play a critical role in advancing internal quality systems.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- 4+ years in quality engineering roles
- 4+ years' experience with PPAP and APQP, including new product launch
- 3+ years' experience in CMM programming
- 2+ years working with GD&T, with strong ability to read technical drawings
- Background in complex manufacturing or production environments
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 standards
- Supplier quality audit experience
- Exposure to high-precision components (e.g., metal, powder metallurgy, advanced materials)
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and implement CMM-based inspections
- Prepare and submit PPAP documentation in line with customer and internal quality requirements
- Lead or support APQP activities during new product development and launches
- Investigate and resolve quality issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams
- Interpret and apply GD&T principles to ensure product and process compliance
- Coordinate internal and external problem-solving initiatives (8D, root cause analysis)
- Conduct supplier audits and monitor corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, documentation, and standards
- Audit internal quality systems and recommend improvements
- Serve on the Material Review Board
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors
- Forecast and manage cost impacts associated with quality operations
