Ashley Furniture Trading Company, LLC has multiple openings for Senior Product Quality Engineers in Arcadia, WI.
Design, develop, and monitor Ashley's furniture manufacturing procedures with an aim to improve and streamline processes, while ensuring adherence to quality standards. Contribute regularly within product quality work and communications globally, ensure conformance to defined workflows, and assist in managing system, process, product improvement plans, and status. Participate in new product development and design reviews and confer with colleagues in engineering, marketing, and other departments to evaluate proposed design concepts. Develop and implement key pieces of the quality system within the furniture manufacturing process, such as disposition of non-conforming products, production part approval process, or first article inspection criteria. Utilize Six Sigma continuous improvement tools to define and execute improvements within Ashley's manufacturing process and global supply chain. Work with technical personnel to create standard policy and operating procedures where needed. Develop industrial test requirements, methods, and protocol. Document test results and follow on activity within the product development process. Monitor quality trends and patterns, including overseas trends impacting supply, to determine if design modifications are needed in the furniture manufacturing process. Provide leadership in developing and launching processes, including with suppliers, to proactively address furniture product quality, ensuring that finished product meet customer specifications. Assist in the definition and monitoring of key measures that provide visibility and predictability to managing the Product Quality Improvement system.
Work closely with a wide breadth of personnel to identify, monitor, and implement changes within global furniture product quality improvement projects.
Job Requirements
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field, and 3 years of experience in furniture manufacturing or related.
Also, must have work experience in:
- 3D modeling with proficiency in software tools, including Auto-Cad and Solid Works;
- Managing, reviewing, and publishing essential documents including technical product and material specifications, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures;
- Quality control processes, optimizing root cause analysis, and enhancing outcomes in a Furniture Manufacturing Environment with knowledge of Six Sigma problem solving tools;
- Managing supplier and customer interactions;
- Global packaging engineering, considering diverse requirements and designing solutions for worldwide operations;
- Managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously; and
- Applying cutting-edge MMR Radar technology to solve complex problems and enhance product solutions.
