In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of security engineers, conducting thorough risk assessments and vulnerability management across both traditional and AI-powered services. Your work will directly impact our customers and involve extensive interaction with product teams, ML specialists, and organizational leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and model security risks associated with AWS services, including AI/ML systems and their dependencies.
Conduct vulnerability and impact assessments, considering various factors, including AI-specific risk vectors.
Analyze large datasets to uncover security trends and emerging risks related to AI-managed services.
Evaluate security controls supply chain risks for AWS AI services.
Collaborate with AI security teams to make well-informed judgments on vulnerabilities identified during model security reviews.
Create and sustain vulnerability severity frameworks addressing both traditional and AI-specific security concerns.
Work alongside software teams to contextualize findings relevant to foundational models and LLMs.
Drive security enhancements via clear technical guidance and risk assessments.
Partner with teams to discover and execute risk reduction strategies at scale.
Develop and maintain security metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of vulnerability management efforts.
A Day in the Life:
Start your day by reviewing vulnerability assessments across AWS services, including AI-enabled systems. Collaborate with product teams to assess security posture and prioritize remediation efforts. Engage in detailed discussions with system owners to grasp environmental context and verify risk levels. Mentor junior engineers on security risk assessment and supply chain vulnerabilities, analyzing security metrics to measure our program's effectiveness. Conclude your day by working with teams to elevate security standards and ensure the practical implementation of enhanced risk models.

Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience identifying security issues and risks, developing mitigation strategies.
4+ years in network, system, or software architecture, design, implementation, support, and security evaluation.
2+ years in areas including cryptography, network protocols, data structures, algorithms, or vulnerability assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of scripting or programming experience in languages such as Ruby, Python, Shell/BASH, Java, or C/C++.
Deep expertise in vulnerability management, including evaluating software vulnerabilities and risk calculations.
Experience assessing security risks for AI/ML systems and implementing security controls for AI development pipelines.
Ability to generate automated metrics for service and program effectiveness.
In-depth understanding of cloud computing services and deployment architectures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year to $247,600/year, depending on geographic market and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
