Overview Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to support the design and implementation of a comprehensive security infrastructure. This role involves protecting Board data and systems, both on-premises and in the cloud, from internal and external threats. The position is based onsite in Washington, DC. Responsibilities Design and implement security measures to safeguard data and systems, including: Managing and maintaining security tools, such as upgrading software, applying patches, and configuring settings for optimal performance. Researching new security technologies and recommending solutions to enhance security posture. Supporting the deployment of a zero trust architecture, including improving identity and access management, network segmentation, and ensuring comprehensive logging and visibility. Qualifications Minimum of five years of relevant experience. Proven experience in designing and implementing secure networks and systems in on-premises or cloud environments. Deep knowledge of security technologies like firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, IAM solutions, and encryption protocols. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and software development practices such as SDLC, project management, and Agile methodologies. Ability to analyze data for security threats and vulnerabilities. Experience in risk assessment and mitigation planning.
