As a Cloud Deployment Software Engineer, you’ll join the SAS Software-as-a-Service team to help design and implement the foundational cloud architecture behind SAS's next-gen offerings—starting with our newest, most innovative platform to date: SAS® Viya® Workbench. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you’ll lead efforts to codify the full software lifecycle—from development and testing to deployment and delivery—through robust CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC). You’ll contribute to shaping the future of cloud at SAS from the ground up. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will: Lead a highly collaborative design effort and implementation of enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines and DevOps strategies for a major SaaS product Share your insights into industry-wide DevOps strategies and tools Collaborate across teams to craft deployment strategies that scale with product needs Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers on DevOps best practices Scope product requirements, estimate effort, and help define release schedules Drive Agile sprint goals and contribute across all phases of software development Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure quality and reliability Support internal customers and collaborate with technical writers on documentation Uphold secure coding and deployment practices aligned with SAS’s security goals Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience working on large complex software products as a developer. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field. Proven software engineering skills, with hands-on experience in DevOps development Recent, hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, including: 1. Networking, service discovery, pod management, and troubleshooting deployment issues. 2. Use of tools such as kubectl, K9s, Lens, Helm, and authoring YAML manifests Proficiency with automation and IaC tools like Ansible and Terraform Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools including Git, GitHub Workflows, ArgoCD, Jenkins Solid command of Linux/UNIX systems and shell scripting Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure Preferred qualifications Proficiency in Go, Python, Bicep, and Bash Experience designing scalable cloud-native software architectures World-Class Benefits Highlights include...
