About the Role: WarpStream is an innovative data streaming platform built on Apache Kafka that leverages object storage without relying on local disks. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll engage in various aspects of this product, from optimizing our storage engine and enhancing the scalability of our control plane to developing new features such as transactions and multi-region clusters. You will be instrumental in solving intricate distributed systems challenges at scale, building resilient services across AWS, GCP, and Azure. Your Responsibilities: Lead the execution of complex technical projects from inception to completion. Develop and support mission-critical backend services that provide substantial value for our customers. Architect, design, and operationalize high-performance, scalable, and reliable services. Troubleshoot and debug technical issues within a sophisticated tech stack comprising microservices, containers, and virtualization. Guarantee operational readiness and meet service availability and performance commitments to clients. What We're Looking For: 10+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining production-quality backend systems. Strong software engineering practices, including code reviews and a commitment to quality and documentation. Proficiency in major programming languages like Java, Go, C/C++, Python, etc. A deep curiosity and passion for distributed and storage systems. Excellent project delivery and communication skills. Experience in operational excellence for large production environments. A customer-centric approach, collaboration, and eagerness to mentor.
