About Staffing Solutions: Our technology group is focused on developing the software that drives the Indeed Flex temporary staffing marketplace, including managed-service provider services and payroll solutions. The Flexer Supply team plays a crucial role in converting job seekers into verified Flexers, crucial to our marketplace success. Our focus is on recruiting and onboarding new workers, managing compliance, and ensuring a smooth experience for Flexers. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Migrate complex concepts from a monolithic Ruby on Rails application to our standard service-oriented technology stack, primarily utilizing Java Spring Boot. Maintain backend APIs and facilitate integrations with third-party vendors. Rapidly adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and languages as needed. Take ownership of large, complex projects or systems and drive requirements effectively. Collaborate across multiple projects, providing proactive and consistent communication. Guide teams in designing and building complex, reusable systems that prioritize simplicity, maintainability, and scalability. Ensure high code quality by guiding team members in code review processes, maintaining standards for cleanliness, reliability, and functionality. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 6+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, MySQL/PostgresSQL, and modern development frameworks. A demonstrated ability to work with multiple programming languages and a willingness to engage in diverse code bases. Experience in breaking apart monolithic applications using contextually appropriate strategies. Excellent communication skills for managing collaborators and executing plans across teams. A strong ability to solve problems both in code and related areas. A passion for enhancing developer productivity and keeping abreast of advancements in AI.
