We are seeking a strong  Senior Software Engineer  to support the Air Force to help in developing and operating modernized applications that are used daily by the warfighter. This is an exciting new initiative where the  Air Force  is mirroring Silicon Valley processes and capabilities to quickly deploy new capabilities. Candidates must be passionate, energized, and excited to work on modern architectures and solve challenging problems for our clients.

Position Description (what you will do) Develop and deploy modern application architectures on a secured Kubernetes platform, focusing on microservices, containers, and data-rich applications.

Design, build, and maintain Helm charts for application configuration, templating, and deployment across various environments.

Collaborate with CI/CD engineers to build and debug automated pipelines, ensuring seamless and repeatable deployments from code commit to production.

Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues by analyzing Kubernetes events, logs, and resource states.

Design and build tools to be used by the everyday warfighter.

Requirements: Secret Clearance Required to start

8-10 years of experience with Java development

Experience with Linux platform, preferably RHEL

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including writing and understanding resource manifests (Pods, Deployments, Services).

Experience working with Gitlab pipelines

Experience with Helm chart development, including maintaining custom helper templates.

Experience with relational databases like SQL, Oracle, or Postgres

Bachelors degree in a technical field

Nice to Have: Experience with Containerization tools like Docker, etc

Experience with Spring framework development

Programming experience in languages like C/C++

Automation experience with tools like Kubernetes
