Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is looking for a highly qualified, experienced and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of a Senior Software Engineer to support the Investigative and Intelligence Application Unit (IIAU) at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting custom-built applications for the FBI's investigative and intelligence workforce. This position requires an Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance, supporting a DOJ FBI five-year contract beginning mid-July 2025. The primary work location is Patriots Plaza in Washington DC (with a possible work location of Mission Ridge in Chantilly, VA upon special request and client approval). Some telework flexibility may be available on a case-by-case basis.
The Senior Software Engineer will support the Investigative and Intelligence Application Unit (IIAU), being responsible for the design, development, testing, and management of application development projects in support of the FBI’s IT infrastructure. This role includes the programmatic integration of third-party components, introduction of new custom capabilities, modification of existing code, process improvement recommendations, and automation of operations and maintenance tasks. The engineers will develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics. This position requires participation in all aspects of the software development life cycle for solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance. Additional duties include conducting technical project milestone reviews, code architecture sessions, resource estimation, and development best practices knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in related field
7+ years of experience in software development
Experience with web-based application development and operational support
Strong understanding of the software development life cycle
Knowledge of operations and maintenance (O&M) to ensure application security and efficiency
Experience with programmatic integration of third-party components
Ability to develop and maintain custom-built products
Preferred Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Familiarity with technical project milestone reviews and code architecture sessions
Experience with collaborative development for internal and external partners
Knowledge of resource estimation and development best practices
Experience with Microsoft 365 Power Platform and SharePoint
Clearance:
Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance
